Enduro, Hare and Hounds and Enduro Tryout Days with WOR Events

WOR Events are the frontrunners in the UK for the promotion and organisation of Motorcycle Enduro’s and Cross Country events, setting the highest standards and profiles within the sport.

WOR are now very pleased to announce that they will be bringing the WOR Events Multi lap enduro experience to the Mountain bike fraternity by staging some MTB Enduros in the near future.
With the entire event infrastructure already in place, IE…venues, timing, medical cover, staff etc it seems a natural progression for WOR to move over into these style of events.

Sunday 23rd November 2008 will see the 1st of these MTB Enduros, “The Pedal Power Enduro” takes place in one of the superb forestry based venues the club have at their disposal.

Cefn Llwyd Forest on the Bala/Llangynog road (b4391) will be the setting and a very ride able 10-15 mile loop will be set out for the lucky riders to blast round on.
The Cefn Llwyd forest is managed and run by the TilHill Forestry Management Company who are the providers of the fantastic “Coed Llandegla” facility in North Wales, One of the UK’s finest MTB centres.
TilHill and Coed Llandegla are sponsors of this first time WOR MTB ENDURO, this link is a further partnership for WOR Events and Till Hill through the motorbike connections that are already well established.

Basically WOR Events will be bringing the Hare and Hounds Cross Country Enduro format to the MTB world, which will see the line up of riders start in their relevant groups and try and do as much distance and as many laps in the time allowed as possible.
The winner is simply the rider that does the most laps in the quickest time.
With 8 classes covering all ability’s and ages there is guaranteed fun for everyone.
Drink Stations will be strategically placed around the lap to keep riders on the vital fluids and safety marshals will be covering the whole circuit ensuring a safe days sport is had by all.

Unlike other MTB events in the UK, the HARE & Hounds format that WOR will adapt, will allow riders to have a laugh with friends and rivals alike as the quicker riders will “lap” the other guys over the flowing forestry roads and trails, keeping the circuit busy with riders always surrounded by other riders and not “lonely in a forest” as with a traditional MTB  XC event.

Obviously WOR are hoping to see this venture grow in stature and provide a full calendar of events for MTB’s in 2009 and beyond.A 2008 Xmas MTB XC Enduro is also planned with more details to follow after this inaugural event.

With plenty of quality off road venues at their disposal, WOR will be hoping to bring plenty of fresh tracks and exciting races to the MTB scene including some downhill events if the planned Enduros take off and get a good response.
